There is much information behind a project… Make it clear and valuable for the selected public. It also needs to be engaging and visually pleasant, otherwise, they will never reach the point we want to make.

Design thinking stage- prototyping stage session made me feel more excited about our project. I think it’s one of the most important part to test how much our idea is valid or possible. As Nihal said, we need to solve the root, not the symptoms of problem. That’s why it’s important to take action for applying our solution to real life situation for healing the disaster itself. I like the idea of simplifying idea as possible as people understand easily and visualize it to get more feedback.

“Jugaad” tool was great example to use what we have in our hands and invent solution to solve the problem through it. “Why”, “why not”, “what if”, “what might” question can be good approach to get an idea for solution.

Also borrowing idea and take inspiration from nature and animals were interesting hit which can be helpful when we feel stuck. Especially, japanese people’s solution from taking ideas of birds and nature surprised me a lot.

Finally, asking why it is happening or what is its causes and part them into from general questions to specific questions to find an answer for each ones and ask those questions to ourselves for pretending like we are users or beneficiary is another path to reach solutions.

To sum up, Nihal’s real life examples were great and gives us general opinion how we can get into prototype stage more productively.

answered "How might ideate help you develop your active listening skills to brainstorm and reflect on ideas effectively with your team?" 2021-12-12 01:04:01 -0800
Brainstorming process was both interactive and demanding. It gave us a great opportunity to see that how ideas can be similar and different at the same time. Especially, harvesting ideas required more deeply comprehension substantially. Because giving up your ideas for better or trying to modify it according to make it more proper for everyone is not easy as everybody supposed. Particularly, “desirability, viability and feasibility- innovation” tools assured help a lot to grid ideas and choose “top” ones to narrow our prototype audience specifically.

The last thing I would like to say that “Creative Confidence” activity was the best for me, because being at your 6 age again made me feel free and unlimited. On the other hand, it is really heartbreaking how we are about to lose our creativity because of adult thinking style which is full of trying to find reasonable and rational decisions. Maybe we sometimes need to go with flow allowing our imagination to emerge its capacity without any obstacle.

In my opinion, preparing our Pecha&Kucha for 7 minutes after all our efforts, works and activities was a demanding challenge which taught us a lot. Actually, I think it will make us be more confident and practical in our future project with especially investors. As you know, they don’t have so much time and enthusiasm to listen for long time. This stage was a great tactical way to grab their attention, to touch their heart and show your desire clearly and without get them tired and bored. Being obvious and represent the idea easily allows to be more precise and put ourselves priority’s among others.

answered "How might the prototype & test stage help you with overcoming a fear of failure or challenging your assumptions about what is ‘right’?" 2021-12-11 09:38:46 -0800
Prototyping stage was very useful to put action what we have idea about. When it comes to failure, I think it is necessary to learn what is useful and what is needed to modify or totally change. Fortunately, we did not failed our prototyping so much, it’s accepted with interest and willingness. Personally, I have got important outcome from this stage that your idea doesn’t have to be super unique or unusual, it is highly important to focus on sustainable, feasible and realizable one than putting effort with founding uncommon thing. On the other hand, there is no just one right way for me, the ways that works for a while, can be altered with another one, some part of it can be changed or shifted completely. The most important part is to be aware of these changes as soon as possible we can and start to switch it faster.

Lastly, I would like to mention “fear” which is inevitable for each project from my perspective. Fear can be visible and felt but it’s not obstacle to move forward and do better choice. There is a proverb saying that the courage is not to stop despite of your feel. If we want to be one of courageous changemaker, we should improve step by step in spite of feeling fear.

Active listening is key in brainstorming. We need to understand what the other is thinking, as we are going together through the path. We cannot assume we know what they are going to say, we cannot think something is “stupid”, or that something “makes no point”. If those feelings arise, we need to ask deeper into our colleague’s idea to understand better, because probably a miscommunication is happening.

Body language helps us develop our communication. Just like jazz musicians know what’s going on without talking, we can know when someone wants to add something or ask, Therefore, we need to pay attention to everyone, to make sure they are able to intervene, as well and try to do it respectfully ourselves.
