Through volunteering my time to support young people who are struggling with addictions, I want to help make a difference. This activity has helped me better understand how I want to do that. Following the creation of my mobiles strip, some of the questions I have include how I might get active in the community in order to affect change and perform volunteer work.

My photo won't upload but here is my answers to the questions on the Möbius strip module:

    1. How did this exercise help you better understand how you might contribute to the change you would like to see through the Changemaker Pathway you selected when you created your CTN Passport?

I understand the importance of the Social Innovation Project enabling me to know my values/gifts I can give to the placement.

    2. What questions might you have from doing this exercise? I don't have any but I like the Möbius strip as a reflective piece.

I think it removes the questions I had and causes me to understand the meaning behind the social innovation project.

    3. What insights might have been inspired when considering self (ME) and society (WE) as ONE?

The insight I had was that I need to become more connected to my community/environment.

    4. What might you need to build your changemaking capacity?

I think I'd need more confidence and knowledge on change making, how to further use my skills and what I individually bring to the table.

This was a very interesting exercise. This exercise showed me how important and connected ME/WE are and that it takes ME/WE to make change happen. I remember hearing the phrase, "It takes a village to raise a child". "ME" as a person can be inspired by an idea, however, it takes "WE" to create lasting positive, sustainable change.

This exercise helped me better understand how I want to help make a change through volunteering my time to help support youth who struggle with addictions. Some questions I have after creating my mobiles strip would be how can I get involved with the community in order to make that change and do that volunteer work. Considering self and society as one was something i had never really thought about. It feels eye opening a little bit to think of us as connected as someone who never felt that before, and I think it’s a great feeling. It makes you want to get involved and work harder to make the changes you want to see. I think I will need to build confidence and self worth in myself to build my Changemaking capacity.

The Mobius strip helps outline how we can continue change in our community. I feel that the next steps would be to use our strengths to try and identify more serious problem areas within our community.

This Mobius strip activity is fantastic! It supports me in identifying my skills and areas for improvement, as well as identifying community needs. The entire planet is interconnected. We have the ability to solve issues within ourselves if we try together.

I feel like the next step is now taking action. I now know what needs to improve in the community and I need to take a step and actually help create change. I can do this by trying to connect with people about what needs to change and trying to create changes in the community.

This mobius strip activity is really fun! It helps me identify my strengths and things that I should work on, and also identify the community needs. We should treat people that way we want to be treated, community issues, in my opinion, ought to be prioritised equally with personal ones.

We need to keep that continuity in the care we can provide to our community. Our own strengths can flow into the community and create a chain which in turn can help us to work on our own attritubes.

After this activity, I believe that in addition to thinking about and working to resolve personal issues involving our family or friends, we also need to consider the challenges facing our community. Therefore, it will be much simpler to comprehend community concerns, and we will also be able to identify better solutions for the problems that the community faces.
