    πŸ€” Reflection question

How might the prototype & test stage help you with overcoming a fear of failure or challenging your assumptions about what is β€˜right’?

    Shantel's Answer

Failing is apart of everyday life. Failing doesn't mean we can't achieve our goal, it means we are learning. experience by experience. Testing should lead to one or two, or maybe even 5 failed attempts.

    πŸ€” Reflection question

How might ideation help you develop your active listening skills to brainstorm and reflect on ideas effectively with your team?

    Shantel's Answer

the ideate stage allows us to work together and brainstorm different ideas but also individually. Its great for expanding ideas and building off other ideas. As I look at it, the more ideas built together the better the vision.

    πŸ€” Reflection question

What did you learn about publicly sharing your ideas that you will carry with you in your future of work?

    Shantel's Answer

sharing our ideas publicly can be very nerve racking and show a sense of vulnerability that can make you pretty uncomfortable, it can also give you good feedback and give the option of debate and gives you more opinions and perhaps you learn things you didn't know prior to you sharing your ideas. I know sometimes when I share things with my boyfriend, he educates me on things I wasn't aware of. That can be helpful for our future career choices.

    πŸ€” Reflection question

How might you explain the value of you having a systems-thinking mindset when attempting to define and understand a complex problem?

    Shantel's Answer

While working within the community it's important for us to have a systems-thinking mindset so we can understand and empathize with the people we work with, making it easier to make a change. I know having a systems-thinking mindset will help us with many different hands-on issues within the community. Helps when we can put ourselves in the shoes of the others involved,

    πŸ€” Reflection question

After learning about how to empathize with the people affected by your SDG’s social issue, how you might apply empathy to working with the members on your CTN Innovation Team?

    Shantel's Answer

I will be understanding with my peers as well as the people I will be working with in the field. Whether that is the 4 people in my placement or the mentor, supervisors or monitor. I will provide understanding, empathy and always have a listening ear. I will ensure the people I'm working with in the Social Innovation team are never feeling alone.
